Everything You Need to Know About the the February 9th Full Moon

.: That Leo Full Moon "Feathered Expressions" :.

On February 9th we will experience the second Full Moon of 2020.  The first was a Lunar Eclipse, so with this one, there will be no dragons involved (Rahu & Ketu/The Nodes of the Moon).  It will be at the 20th degree of Leo and it's exactly at 7:33 am UT.  As is the case with all Full Moons, we must first understand where the lunation began.  Context is everything.

This lunation began on January 24th at the 4th degree of Aquarius.  An important degree in the Great Wheel because all the planets currently restructuring reality in Capricorn will be crossing it in the months to come.  Saturn will be the first when he moves into Aquarius in late March.  Then Jupiter at years end.  Pluto won't plug into this electricity until 2023, but still, it's a place where the entire "Boneyard" is headed.  Most importantly, the "once-in-every-twenty year" conjunction between Jupiter & Saturn will also occur just degrees away near the Winter Solstice at the end of 2020.

But what does it all mean?

Do I need to know Astrology to understand this?

Let's try this....

To locate the story arc look no further than the timeline since the New Moon in Aquarius.  If you are diligent in tracking the Lady of the Waters, you will be able to notice a theme that has progressed since then and is now in the process of opening its petals.  Every Full Moon is a flowering. 

In the Big World, the coronavirus has exploded, WW3 became one of the most googled terms on the internet, and cryptocurrencies have begun to perennially bloom in their decentralized way once again.  All in a short two-week span.  This all matters, because again, it gives us a sampling platter of what's to come when the bigger stories with Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto enter the same terrain. 

I don't share this to scare you but inspire you. 

There is a churning happening. 

All that is toxic is being released, making room for new life to grow. Lots of composting occurring in this neck of the universe.  And the ancestors are close.  They are trying to help us remember the old songlines.

Let's take another step towards the Moon to try to understand this better.

.: Leo/Aquarius :.

Every time the Moon is full in Leo, the Sun is in Aquarius.  Maybe obvious to some of you, but it's important to know this.  The two luminaries ignite the polarity of Self Expression/Audience in an essential way.  If the Sun relates to the spirit of Consciousness and the Moon the Soul of our personal experience, then it's our job to attempt to see in the dark our own limitations around self-expression in relation to our audience/our community/our tribe. 

Think of it like this:  There are twelve of us around a fire (Leo/fixed fire).  We decide to go around the circle where each person gets to share some of their medicine. For some, it will be a song. Others a dance. Maybe a story or a finger pointing to the Moon describing what is happening with that Leo Moon we have gathered under.  We all share (Aquarius).  Now, when you put yourself into that circle, what do you share? (Leo) If you don't know, perfect.

This Full Moon will give you some silvery light to navigate the shadow of this lack in expression.  If you do, there is always more refinement to your relationship to that share.  We must always be sensitive in not allowing our creations to fill up our heads too much. It's not ours. We are only the vessel.  All praise should be saved for the Muse.

And one more step towards this Moon, making sure we have our understanding as full as this moon.

.: Feathered Expression :.

There are these channeled messages for every degree of the Zodiac.  They are called Sabian Symbols.  Taken too seriously, they can get you lost, yet when used to open up a door in the imagination, they can help us tremendously in getting closer to the gooey essence of what we are inquiring about.  For instance, the Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is:

That's for the 21st degree of Leo (you round up).  Quite the image.  Reminds me of a 2 am romp through the Lower Eastside.  As Ginsberg once poetically wrote:

There's another way of looking at it too, which is pretty straight forward: Don't be a chicken! Share your gifts.  Who cares if you think your song sucks or you're not yet good enough.  You will never know until you share.  Let the world be the judge, not your inner critic.  And try your best not to reach for sloppy surrogates for inspiration because your idols did.  It never ends well.  Get aligned.  Chest out, shoulders back, and give a little roar.  Then, get to purring.  This is a time for celebration.  We made it through the hardest transit of the year last month (Pluto/Saturn conjunction), now we celebrate and relish in each other's medicine.
