Groundbreaking Methods For Doing Qigong With Your Kids

How often do you practice Qigong? Qigong training is one of the most effective ways to get your body moving. It not only targets the extra weight but also allows you to clear the mind and practice mindfulness thinking.

Discovering The Qigong Practice For Children

People who have children know how challenging it is to deal with their seemingly endless well of energy. They are always running around and doing this and that. It can be quite a challenge to calm them down.

In truth, the last few months have been very challenging, not only because of the state of the world and the coronavirus but also because the kids cannot seem to focus. There is always some distraction that keeps their focus away from schoolwork. In fact, they have been having difficulty falling asleep at night.

Luckily, the practice of Qigong can help in instilling discipline to your kids. Qigong is also used for autism training to help these unique children with their need for order.

When used with a lot of imagination, your kids won’t even think they are being disciplined. They will think of it as magic, and it will transform their behavior into something more manageable without hurting their creativity.

Why Should You Try Qigong For Children?

Qigong for kids has gained popularity over the last few years because it has shown enhancement in children’s overall health and well-being. It helps keep children illness-free.

But how does Qigong work for children? The movements involved in the practice of Qigong can help children improve their flexibility and coordination. It also allows them to find the perfect balance in their body to gain strength and agility

Overall, the practice of Qigong among children helps tone the muscles allowing them to grow a healthy body inside out.

While their body continues to improve, Qigong also works on the children’s mental health concerns. The meditative aspects of the art of Qigong help children find focus and concentration. It allows them to work on tasks without giving in to distractions.

The process also helps them release unwanted tension build-up in the body. In addition, Qigong also helps improve their mental clarity.

If you are looking for a way to help your child develop their physical strength and mental stability, Qigong is precisely what you need. The best part is that you will be able to do it with them.

The Methods of Qigong For Children

Where do you begin your practice of Qigong for children? There are two simple methods you can employ to introduce the art of Qigong to your children. Begin by teaching them the methods, and from there, you will see a massive difference in how your children think and behave.

Qigong for movement

To begin, ask the children to hold their hands in front of them with their shoulders leveled and their elbows straight. Make fists and slowly open and close the hand until a certain motion is achieved.

Make them perform the open and close fist exercise as fast as they can without losing tension. The kids will have fun doing this because it will be a challenge to keep the pressure in every grip. While it’s a lot of fun, this movement opens up a lot of Qi into the hands.

Then, you can make them hold their palms facing each other with their eyes closed. Then, instruct them to move their hands away from each other slowly. Do they feel anything in their hands when they do that?

Most of the time, the kids will speak of that “magnetic” feeling that the motion creates. They will describe the feeling as some kind of resistance when their hands are being pulled together by a kind of energy they cannot explain.

Some will speak of the tingling sensations as if both their hands are swollen. All these sensations are the Qi in between their hands. Children cannot explain what this feeling is or what made them feel it, but they think it is all magic.

Qigong for meditation

While keeping them still for meditation may prove difficult, all you need is to ask them to do it. With the Qigong method, you can let the children lie flat on the floor with their eyes closed.

Put one of their hands on their belly. Then ask them to breathe in and out through the nose, making them feel the rise of their belly as they inhale in and sink in as they exhale.

Encourage them to put their focus on the hand that is on their belly. Make them imagine how the rise and fall of their belly seem to touch the ceiling then down back on the floor.

Let them do this repetitive action for about five minutes, then ask them how they feel after. They will tell you how relaxed they feel, and you will feel the same way too.

Teaching Qigong To Young Children

Whether you transition to the Qigong exercises down to doing the qigong massage, you and your kids are surely up for a treat. After only one session, your children will be asked to do more with you.

Doing Qigong with your children is not just about getting them healthy. More importantly, it is about allowing yourself to have a good time with them while getting them healthy. It’s hitting two parenting birds with one stone.

Every Qigong experience for your children will be memorable because they went through it with you. While it is true that the practice of Qigong takes a lot of practice and a whole lot of dedication before you become good at it, the goal is not just to be great, but to enjoy the experience.

It will take years for your children to actually be good at Qigong, but you have to make them start somewhere. And what better way to teach them than to do it with them, right?
