Generally, everyone had a simpler life when they were young, especially considering all the challenges and the responsibilities that you have to deal with today. The truth is, life is easy if you know how to practice simple living.
The only difference between then and now is that the older a person gets, the more they complicate their situation. Over time, you end up making your life difficult. You start losing who you really are. You begin to want things you don't need.
So why don't you go back to living simply again? Some say that there are seven rules of life, but there are more than a handful of things you can do to simplify your life for ultimate happiness.
Not everything that you want will be yours. Sometimes things don't go your way, and that's okay. Sometimes, you will feel like something is missing, but you have to teach yourself to deal with that.
The moment you let your emotions take control, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. When things don't go your way, please do not hold it against anyone else or yourself. Learn to manage your expectations. If you can, don't expect too much.
Instead, expect things to get worse or expect nothing at all. When you learn to manage your expectations and your feelings, you are in control of your life.
Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone for what they do or how they live their lives, remember that not everyone enjoys the same privileges as you do. Sometimes, people forget that they speak from a privileged perspective that it has become easy for them to say what they think.
What is more challenging to do is to realize why you are criticizing others. When they do not agree with what you want or do the opposite of what you expect, please don't hold it against them. Remember that you are a different person from them.
Whenever you feel like saying bad things about others, think twice. Your words could hurt. Your actions could break them. Be more sensitive to others' feelings.
If you have spent the last hour exercising, and you are feeling the fatigue of your muscles, feel that sensation. Please do not ignore it.
Do not drown your sorrow in music. That is not going to make all the pain go away.
Instead, be aware of what you are doing, how you are feeling, and what you are thinking. No matter how hard it is, you can get through it. Learn to keep yourself from making excuses whenever you feel like giving up. Feel all of it. Go through all the discomfort.
Make it your mindset. Learn to practice mindfulness in everything that you do from here on. Living in the moment is making sure that you are feeling everything that you should be feeling.
This is, in fact, so simple, but it is the hardest for people to do. Always remember to choose to be kind in your words and actions. When you express kindness, you are spreading positivity. You won't go very far in life if you always choose to hurt people.
Treat others the way you would like to be treated. You are not perfect; nobody is. For as long as you are kind, help will come your way.
Whenever It feels like you can no longer take the way people think or even their arrogance, give yourself some space away from them. Be kind to them and listen to their point of view, but decline any plans with them with the utmost sincerity.
It is useless to engage in an argument with people who won't listen. If they are already convinced that their idea is the right one, then go ahead and let them be. They have their own way of thinking, and you have yours. You don't have to convince them to think the way you do.
Please don't blame them, as well, for not being on the same page as you.

Keep yourself from watching television.
Identify all the distractions that you have and try to shy away from them.
Why do you keep on checking your social media accounts? Take a hiatus from social media. You'll see how good it could be for you.
Focus on the things that will help you become better than yesterday.
Including exercise in your daily routine would be good for you.
Attend meetings, but keep things simple. There is no need to stay long in a meeting when you can keep it short and simple.
For a change, do you. Stop worrying about other people and what they do in their lives. Life will become better if you teach yourself to shut out the noise from the outside. Focus on what you think. Meditate if you need to achieve some peace and quiet.
You have your own noise inside your head. Deal with that. You deserve to give yourself more time to think and feel. When you do, you'd be able to reconnect to your thoughts and your feelings. Life can be so much more fun. Allow yourself to enjoy every bit of it.
Enjoy the simple pleasures of life. The best part of these things is that they are often free. Money may help you buy things you think you need, but if you can learn how to live a simple life and be happy, there is no need for anything else.
