Are you feeling low, depressed, or generally sad? Do you feel like no matter what you do or achieve, you are unable to feel joy? You are not alone. It is the desire to be happy that makes everyone one and the same. However, this common goal puts everyone in a tricky situation. How does one define happiness? For some, they find it in things and moments that satisfy them temporarily. For others, they see happiness as the bi-product of living a meaningful life.

Though most people think that happiness is a feeling of joy, in theory, this may be true. But in truth, happiness is a state of mind. It is a state of being that gives every person the ability to take in what life has given them. It is to see things from a perspective where everything that happens benefits you in one way or another.

Understanding the Art of Being Happy

What is the art of happiness? Unfortunately, no manual or book will teach a person how to be happy. There is no step by step guide to lead people to...

Spirit Science 36_2 ~ The History of Tarot

Hey there! Last time, we looked at the underlying symbology of Tarot, and now we're going to talk briefly about the history of how this intricate craft came to be. It's important to know that there's a ton of information we could get into here, but we're going to do our best to cover the basics of only what's necessary.

The first Tarot cards in recorded history are found around the mid-14th-century Europe, where we can see signs that the young and wealthy members society would play several well-known card games using both the Major and the Minor Arcana. From our understanding at that time, there seemingly wasn't anything magical about them.

The earliest Italian Tarot cards had unnumbered Major Arcana cards. But as early as 1490, card makers began to place roman numerals on these cards, fixing them to a specific sequence, except for The Child, who remained unnumbered. This practice was carried on by future card makers in France and onward, which brought about the Tarot...

How To Be An Active Listener?

Active listening is perhaps the most essential skill you should have if you would like to develop a healthier relationship with others and with yourself.

The difference between active listening and merely just hearing is the difference between a deep, heartfelt connection and a superficial relationship. Active listening means that you are not just hearing the words that are being said, but rather you are attempting to comprehend the intention the manifests them truly. Understanding the purpose then gives you the actual ability to respond more authentically and meaningfully. Being an active listener is essential because it forms the basis of a meaningful relationship. Without active listening in communication, there are not significant responses, and people are merely talking to each other.

Active listening is also the foundational skill of utilizing the wisdom that comes through your higher self to you. You could even say that we PRACTICE this active listening with others, only...

Some say that these negative feelings and thoughts come from the expectations that you put on yourself. There is so much pressure to do good and be good, and that can be overwhelming.

Even healthy minds may sometimes feel like they are not good enough to succeed, or that they are not good enough to be loved. Even though these feelings can hurt you, they can also hurt others.

How you handle love and the chaotic emotions that come with it can make or break a relationship or friendship. For example, when you choose to dwell on the feeling of not being enough for the person you love, then you will end up hurting yourself and that person. Finding Joy in Doing Difficult Tasks

When something is difficult to understand, the easy way out is to shove it aside and take on another task. But doing this over and over again puts you in a situation where you don’t learn anything new.

It is essential not to take these challenges lightly. They may be challenging to start, and they will remain like that unless you give it a try. You may have a bad habit of passing on hard tasks to others or ignoring them altogether.

However, is this wise?
